Youth Advisory Board
YAB – PRNN’s Youth Advisory Board is a 7-month program designed to empower current juniors and seniors, residing in Park Forest and Richton Park to nurture and enhance their leadership skills. Through active participation in service projects, members will engage with the community, develop empathy, and contribute positively to society. Additionally, the board will serve as a platform for students to propose, plan and execute their own initiatives, developing creativity, collaboration and initiative within the group.
65/65
65/65 aims to serve the seniors of Park Forest and Richton Park by providing resources to address food insecurities through PRNN’s Health and Wellness Committee. Through 65/65, PRNN pledges to provide 65- $100 grocery gift cards to 65 seniors age 65 and older. Seniors may also opt in to attend a workshop focused on nutrition, healthy recipes and making the most out of a small grocery budget.
The PRNN Scholarship
The Park Forest Richton Park Neighborhood Network is committed to investing in our local youth. PRNN offers 3 scholarships to recent high school graduates or GED recipients embarking on their journey to post-secondary education. The PRNN Scholarship supports students seeking a 2- or 4-year degree and is open to all students without regard to academic achievement. Although, the maximum scholarship amount varies year to year, the typical scholarship awarded is around $3000.00. All applicants must reside in Park Forest or Richton Park to be considered.
PRNN Family Stability Program
The PRNN Family Stability Assistance Program is designed for Park Forest and Richton Park residents to maintain self-sufficiency and independence while gaining financial literacy skills to help their families thrive. This program will provide families with the knowledge and tools needed to accomplish these objectives while providing supplemental assistance to help families meet their immediate needs. This will serve as a vital resource for residents of Park Forest and Richton Park, embodying a commitment to fostering self-sufficiency and independence within these communities.
PRNN Safe Summer
PRNN’s Safe Summer programs were designed to provide 6 weeks of free high-quality programming to K-12 youth over the summer months. Safe Summer programs will vary from year to year but past programs have focused on culinary arts, STEAM, tech and confidence building. Safe Summer programs run from June to July and are free and open to all youth in the southland.
